Friction and the Lever Arm: Hanger for rubber band
Sometimes an end of the paper clip gets caught in a hole of the base. This can happen when one or both ends of the clip face the base. This problem is solved by turning the paper clip as in the picture above: the smooth side of the clip is against the base.
