Changes to make in the set-up
The lever arm of the Force Machine should be angled upward, as in the photo. This allows students to push the lever down a little to reach a horizontal position. The rivet to which the rubber band is connected may be adjusted upward or downward until the lever arm is in a position similar to that in the photo. Link two or more rubber bands together until their combined length is about 6".
